When I worked and would be gone all day, I carried a large purse. I needed to have more things with me (make up etc.). Now that I no longer work and usually only go out for a few hours I have a wristlet with only my checkbook, credit card, dl, keys and lipstick. I have been making them and have quite an assortment!

I have both small and large. I always have a big one with me, because I live way out in the country, so I CANT forget anything at home, LOL! I have magazines, extra work aprons, band aids, you name it in my bag. I usually use a small one when I go into the store though, because I hate to carry alot of extra weight!

After surgery on both shoulders, (twice on one!!), I try to use the smallest purse I can manage and still have room for essentials. My shoulders don't need any more stress!!! So...a small to medium works well for me.

One of the young gals I work with just bought a new purse...after filling it up, it is so heavy it seems she must have everything but the kitchen sink in it!!!

I would love to carry a smaller purse but doesn't seem towork for me. I have one of those with lots of pockets. I have to carry my meds (needles, insulin, testing supplies, something for low sugar, and all my heart stuff), of course my cell phone, date book so I know who to buy gifts for and where I'm suppose to be (lol)....it just keeps adding up. I often keep a small purse in the car to throw keys and money in to go shopping so I don't have to carry the whole thing!
