It's also that kind of service that's putting the postal service in both our countries out of business.

I understand and agree with the kudos on their service. I received mine for a Christmas gift from my son. Amazon replaced it twice before the one year warranty expired. No questions asked-but the first fell off my bed and the other, my grandson stepped on. The persons on the phone were courteous.

I've had a Kindle now for about 1.5 years. Here in Oregon we have whats called Library2Go, you can download books from the Amazon site through some kind of agreement with our library system. The library is never closed. Never realized how much I read but the counter for the archive says 143 books. Love Technology. Never ordered from Amazon but since they are in the news so much lately, have been looking. Their prices seem to be highly competitive.

Not sure why you would say that? Amazon has to pay for postage, whether the customer does or not.

Best value there is. I do most of my shopping with Amazon.
same here-I have had 3 Kindles-love them-was converted when I went to the UK with my BFF and she had a Kindle and I carried books. She didn't have a problem-I ran out of books to read and was over weight. Bought a Kindle when I came home and other than a few authors that I have collected over the years in hardback, most have been converted to kindle.

Love my Kindles and love Amazon Prime. Bargain even when not buying hard copy books.

amazon uses the USPS but also UPS and FedEx-the postal service is going out of business because it has been run into the ground by the junk mail and refusal to modernize the system. Australian has 5 day service to the curb, uses small motor scooters instead of big trucks and the postal service centers also sell miscellaneous office supplies and bill pay centres. This works-the US should try it!!

That's why I just love Amazon. Free shipping with Prime and so much more. I think I download a free kindle book daily. Most are awesome. I have also purchased a nice sewing machine on Amazon also.
