I to rescued a dog from it's abusive owners-sort of. The young couple decided they didn't want him anymore because the dog growled at the little girl when he was eating and she tried to take his food. They would kick him and beat him something awful. Weel, last year they just put him outside and left him. No shelter from the weather, snow, rain, everything, no water to drink in the summer, no food to eat, nothing! So an ex-neighbor of mine seen him out running the streets and was so afraid he was going to get hurt somehow, so she brought him to my house and asked if I wanted him. I had lost my Yorkie just a year before and was still getting over losing her, when MAX came to me. I really didn't want another pet but then she told me that if I didn't take him, then he was going to the pound and be put down. Well, there was no way I was going to let that happen to any animal that was in an abusive home. So I told her if she could get me the papers on him, then I would keep him. His papers came in the mail and he's been fixed, all his shots are up to date, so then it was official, he was mine!!!! And let me tell you that I am not one bit sorry for keeping him. He is such a loving animal and is so good. That was back in August of this year and in early September, he would stop at all the corner's and wait until I say it's okay to go, now when a auto is coming down the road, he gets off the road on to the grass and waits for me to tell him it's okay to get back on the road again. And now that it's getting darker earlier, he wnts me to stop what I'm doing so I can go sit in the rocker, so he can get on my lap, and he lays back in my ams just like a little baby, and asleep he goes. Snoring and all. :) He really is a very good and very loving animal and we both needed each other and are very happy we found each other.

This is my new love, MAX Shuz Shu

Now this is my kind of post. I love all the pictures of doggies.
They are all so cute. All my children are 4 legged.
These are my Dobermans. Tank is 8 1/2 and Heidi is 10 1/2.
They are very good natured even with me dressing them up.
There birthdays are in May so I'm planning a doggie birthday party. So if anyone has ideas for that or has had a doggie birthday party let me know how it turned out. I'm sure my babies will appreciate pictures in party hats. Ha.
Thanks Gabby's mama for posting such cute pictures

Most of my dogs have always been rescues in one way or another. Whether from a shelter or an abusive home. I love dogs. I love your dobies! I think they are such a wonderful breed...although I think all the dogs that get a bad rap are-the mastiffs, the rotties, the dobies, the pits....
    Happy Holidays all

Here are my three babies - two Yorkies, Coco is almost 3 and Rascal 9 and 1/2. Rascal arrived when we still had our rescue collie/spaniel cross Lucky, who we had for 11 happy years. Rascal was distraught when Lucky died nearly 3 years ago and was so forlorn - We got Coco, then 9 weeks, and Rascal would have absolutely nothing to do with him for over 2 months. Now they are inseparable.
Our kitty Minstrel found us - she escaped a farm near by when the barn kittens were hunted down (to be killed). She lived in the garage for a couple of months until she had enough confidence in us to come into the house and although quite nervous, now spends wet and/or cold days, and every night in front of the woodburner. She is about 18 months (and speyed!).

    Coco left, and Rascal

Oh Katrine, I just lov you Yorkies. I had mine for 13 years and you could not find a more faithful, loving animal than my Nikki. She had a bad hip so towards the end I would put her in a baby umbrella stroler and take her for walks tht way. She just thought she was the cat's meow. She had a blanket and a sweatshirt that had the words "Princess" on it but she always thought herself as more of a Queen.lol I still cry over losing her.
And she would just go nuts whenever a man was around. She could care less about when women came around. haha
She truely ws my PRINCESS and always will be. I have her ashes in a very special place right here in the house, and I always talk to her when I go by them.
Please give you 2 cuties a big hug from me, will you?
    Thanxs,
    Bev
