Hi - for my parent's anniversary (60th), I made a wall hanging with star shaped blocks. the center of each star had a family member's name in it (printed in calligraphy by my daughter - or you could embroidery them)One star across the top was the year they were married, next one was Dad's name, next one month and date, next one Mom's name, last one across was the year of their 60th anniv. (5 blocks across) blocks under were the individual stars with individual children names, their spouses and their children's names
Mine was total of 25 blocks with sashing inbetween.
Hope this isn't TOO confusing!!! sorry no picture.
Each block was 8 pointed star(16 pieces each- 4X4)

One year, we kids pooled our resources to give my parents a gift of an overnight train trip. They got dinner, souvenirs, a dinner theater murder mystery and they spent the night on the train. You might have something like that in your area.

Nice idea and what fun. Also it doesn't give them something to accummulate, which by now they probably have enough.

    How well/healthy/fit are they?

Are they still living at home? Does anything need repairing, painting, cleaning?

skits/plays are always fun - especially skits of those funny stories that all families tell over and over again. If people don't want to act, you can always do a song-and-dance.
