These are awesome! I too make AG clothes for my granddaughter, though never even thought about posting them on here.

Those are really awesome! What a lucky girl to have a grandma sew them, as they are really expensive to purchase!

These are so cute! I love making American Girl doll clothes for my DGD too. They are so fun to make and so much easier than Barbie clothes. Great job!

I watched that show this week and hoping I can catch the second one. I've been thinking about getting this because I have a 1yr old granddaughter and would love to make her one. My daughter loves the doll that I made for her when she was little and still has it even though when she was little she decided it needed to wear makeup. To say the least; it never came out of the fabric but she still loves her doll.Great job.

Sigh, I have 3 precious grandsons. No dolls, no lace, because hot wheels and robots don't need them. You have a lucky GD with a loving creative Grandmother.

Stitchnripper, thank you. My GD is 4 and I have been waiting for her to grow up a little more to be able to handle changing clothes and to appreciate what is made for her. Maybe starting now would be a good idea. Thank you so much for posting your clothers. You did such a great job.

When I was making the clothes I used Velcro for closings instead of buttons. I would divide the 3/4" in half and it was easier for the younger girls to use. Buttons would be for decorations only.I hate zippers so it was a lazy way of doing things. I also used it when I made sleeping bags for the dolls. Velcro for me was like Duck Tape--it fixes alot of things!!!lol

No, the patterns are not free. They are called 30 minute doll clothes for the 18" doll. I bought the book and DVD and when you think of how much a pattern is in the store even with a coupon or discount, this came out pretty cheap. I think the book of 12 outfits was about $20.00

Kathy, you are right, velcro is much easier. That's what the patterns call for and what I used, except for the hoodie which was a Simplicity pattern and called for a zipper. But, the granddaughter "ordered up" a pink hoodie and that's what I made her!!!
