There is a special wall paper paste to use for fabric on walls. I've had a wallpaper border up in my guest room since 1997 when I retired. I'm getting ready to paint that room and I can just wet the fabric take it down and reuse it if I like. I cut my fabric out of sheets to match my bedspread. I wasn't quilting at that time. If I knew how to put a picture on the board I would send one. The border is free formed so the flowers come cascading down around the wall at the top of the closet. I've been very proud of that bedroom and have had so many compliments on the look and the fact that I came up with the idea to use fabric.

If you spray with water, it should easily come off. Sounds like a great idea.

I saw this idea on DYI and had to try it. I just did a small section in the pantry and it did work well. You have to use a good wet sponge and soak the material to get it off the wall. The material can be reused . You can take a pretty doily and soak it in the starch then place it over a bowl smooth it down and let it dry. Make sure the doily is much larger then the bowl so you have a brim( like a hat), When it is dry you can add a ribbon for a hat band and some flowers then hang it on your door. So pretty.

A friend years ago did almost the same, but used foam board to attach to the wall with the fabric on it . Very nicely done for sure !
