Another use for quilting fabric
I spent hours looking for a wallpaper border for my kitchen that is undergoing a forced remodel (water softener overflowed and ruined several floors). No luck, so I looked online on applying fabric to walls. Liquid starch!!!I have several fabrics chosen for curtains so I didn't need to search for any. Today I soaked a scrap of fabric in starch, smoothed it on the wall and it worked perfectly . Now to clean the soffits and apply the pretty stuff.

Decades ago I saw a home decorating show that discussed this exact process. According to them it does remove easily. I have not tried it. It was especially recommended for renters since it is a reversible process.

Yes, it should come off easily after being soaked with water. Navy wives did this in the 80's to brighten up dreary quarters and had to remove it before moving from military housing. Worked great! Of course, we usually moved every 2-3 years, so I can't speak for any longer than that.
