Hi Kim, I love going to Amish country here in Ohio. Although I don't have any Amish friends I love talking to the local merchants. I had a patient once from there and his wife was so nice to talk to. He was very ill but I got to know them a bit. I really am in awe of the simplicity of their lives. It's such a treat to go there. I feel like I'm in a different world :)
You live where I'm from!! :D:D

No, but I would love to be friends with some amish. I really admire the life style (don't think I could go for all of it) and the faith that they have. I love to go to Lancaster and have been to Ohio (want to go again).
This would be on my bucket list: To spend a day with an amish family.

I live in the middle of Amish country...actually our Amish neighbors' pasture butts up against our back yard! But as the previous poster said, they live very private lives. No pics, no electricity, no cars, etc. But I have traded vegetables in the summer and been given great recipes. They are wonderful people if you ever have the opportunity to get to know them.
