Default Any postage stamp collectors out there?

I have been a collector since childhood, as was my Dad and DGF. I get into it with both hands and feet (figuratively), about twice a year, and this is one of those times. If anyone whats to swap stamps with me, pm me. My collection is world-wide, but also have an extensive US collection. Mostly interested as a hobby, so cancelled stamps (used) is usually what I would be trading for-in other words, nothing of real monetary value, just interesting. Would even consider trading fabric etc for stamps! Would love trading with someone in a foreign country, as well as the US.

DH received his father's stamp collection when his dad passed away, we've got boxes, about 12 albums, and I don't know how many stuffed into envelopes and other things. Do you catalog yours? It's something I need to do for him at some point, I will go through it and see what we might be able to trade with you. I used to do it myself when I was a child and had some really wonderful stamps from all around the world.

I collect stamps too, just for fun. I would love to trade stamps. I don't even have my in a notebook yet, just in envelopes and zip bags. How do you keep yours? Do you glue them in a notebook or scrapbook? Maybe we can trade some. I can scan the ones I have duplicate of and email you the pictures.

It broke me heart to loose my entire childhood collection during a move.

I inherited my Dad's and DGF's collection, plus have my own. I had my DD's and DGF's cataloged several years ago, but not mine. There must be a total of 30 ablums, numerous boxes of sorted stamps (in glassine envelopes and paper envelopes), boxes of first day covers, mint sheets, plate blocks, etc. All very time-consuming for me. I tend to just work on my collection which, when I get it out to work on, takes over my sewing area for days! I belonged to several stamp clubs as a child, and used to save my pocket money (allowance) to spend on "stamps on approval" from these clubs. Anyway, i'll PM you to talk further!

I will gladly help you get started soaking them off the envelopes, sorting, putting in books (NEVER GLUE!!) there are special stamp hinges (1000 for about $3.00) available which won't ruin the stamps (but don't use on stamps un-used with the glue still on the back-there are special mounts available for "mint" stamps). I will PM you and we can "talk" further.

What a shame you lost yours. It isn't too late to start again! I found the love of it always stayed with me, even though for many many many years I didn't work on it or even give it much thought. Start with either just US comemoratives (those are the interesting ones) or one foreign country, or one theme (like dogs, cats, flowers etc) and collect just those. PM me if you want to discuss further.

Thank you. I do have a few favorites that I have put away over the past couple of years.
I always hoped someone would find them and want to return them. As my name and address were in the two large books.
    I can always Hope.

Default stamp collections I have a stamp collection and would be intersted in trading stamps

I have a stamp collection and would be interested in trading stamps. Mine are mostly just saved from envelopes but I have some new ones too. I keep mine in a ring binder in plastic pages with pockets made for sports cards. You can see each pocket clearly. I hope some day to organize mine. Would love to correspond with you about them. Please write me. g mom
