Anybody use "Angie's List"?
My DH and I are getting to a place where we are always able to handle maintenance chores that need to be done on our home. Would this list have "handy men" or something equivalent?

You can join for just a month about $7 here. Just remember to cancel before the month is out or they will auto charge the next month to your credit card. I found a good deal on wallpaper removal. Looking at all the reviews helped me put some confidence in the people I hired. They did a good job.

Yes there is a fee, but my daughter has used it for several things and saved an average of $50.00 each time. The service was good. You can give them a rating after they are done (on computer) so that keeps them honest and to do a good job

I use them - I moved into my house 3 years ago, and my husband is not handy! I look through our local Penny Saver for Handymen and the like, and then check them out on Angie's List, along with the Better Business Bureau. Both Angie's List and Better Business Bureau have saved me from potential problems. I will probably not renew Angie's List after this year; we are about done, and have our craftspeople in place.

Ha! Yes there is a fee to join and we live out in central Nebraska where there is no local/area Angie's list but they would like you to list people who did good work for you, but they don't pay for listings. Seems to me it is a money maker for Angie and you can ask your neighbors and friends and save the cost. Call your Chamber of Commerce. Those girls know everything!
