anyone ever done a hot air balloon ride?

This is something I have wanted to do forever. We went to the Hot Air Balloon festival in Albuqueque NM almost every year when we lived there. Our DD was in the band and they opened up for the festival each year, so we went then. I thought one year my DH had gotten me one for Christmas but it was for a glider ride instead. I went on that and it was fun, but...I was still dreaming of that hot air balloon. Someday.

Went on one in Utah in the 90;s . It was awesome.
DH who also doesn't like heights went and enjoyed it also.
I would go again if I had the opportunity.
Except when the burners ran it was smooth and quiet.
Loved it.

We took a hot air balloon ride over The Valley of the Kings' in Egypt at sunrise....wonderful experience..until we crashed landed on our side down a ravine, after being dragged right through some poor farmers pig pens!!!!!!
ALL that said it was magical   :D

Yes I have and loved it! I'm afraid of heights but it's not scary. We had the best (owner of the company) take us up and he did an excellent job. It is so peaceful and beautiful up there. He even landed us on the river and we were floating for a bit-that's how good and wonderful he was. I say everyone should do it regardless how you feel about heights! Guaranteed you'll feel like you can't wait to do it again.

I did one a few years ago - I hate heights but it was a magical experience and would do it again if I could - even the bumpy landing didn't stop that wonderful feeling of freedom and total exhileration

It is on my bucket list :D:D:D
Some places will just take you up as far as the ropes will allow to give you a "taste" of what it is like. You might try that first
My cousin took her mom (my aunt) in one for her birthday. DA was 75, had dementia, but the smile on her face up there was priceless... it was the last item on her bucket list and bless my DC for making it happen. (DA's doc gave his blessings for this experience)
AND then there was the look on my dear cousin's face... I don't think she was enjoying near as much  :D:D:D
