I used to have chickens as well and never had any problems with using them in anything. We always added a raw egg to our caesar dressing. I learned how old eggs were when you bought them in a grocery store when my ex worked in one for awhile. I couldn't believe that they can sit in a warehouse for 3 months before going to the stores. That scared me more than eating the eggs from my own chickens. At least I knew what they were eating. Ours got hen scratch but were also free range and got produce scraps and scraps from the garden as well. Now that I don't live on the farm I only buy farm fresh eggs from someone who raises her chickens just like we used to. The taste is sooooo much better than store bought!
