One of my sons got the sleep number bed from QVC mainly because of the return policy. They ended up keeping the bed and like it very much, but, weren't sure and didn't want to pay to send it back. And I agree with grannie cheechee
that you can never lie on one in the store long enough to see if it will work.

This may sound crazy but I am now sleeping on an air mattress purchased from Walmart. The sleep number mattresses are an air mattress so I tried the cheap way first and it works well. No more back and hip issues.

I had the Memory foam mattress (the expensive one) and it did make you hot - it really held in the body heat - my hubby and I would often wake up bathed in sweat - so we bought a sleep number bed - it was almost the opposite - because it's an air bed - it stays cold from the air - I could never stay comfortable on mine - it killed my back and my hips - I felt like I couldn't walk in the mornings - also, it seemed like it was hard to keep the sheets on the corners - I think it was the different air pressures for the my side and my husbands. So we got rid of that one - now we went back to a good old fashioned pillow top firm mattress - it was a little too firm so I added one of those memory foam toppers to it and works just fine - it was not expensive either. If you do order the bed - make sure you get one that you can return if you don't like it - I think its one of those things - either you like it or you don't. Good luck.
