Our State's No Call list is for life; however the National No Call list is effective for 5 years. Thank you for bringing it to my attention as I need to renew this month. https;//www.donotcall.gov/Register/RegVer.aspx

I just keep re-upping on the national list when the calls start coming again. It does help. There is also a Do Not Mail list (I'll have to look that up for you) which I signed up on not that long ago. It's primarily for all the credit card apps but wow, that worked really quickly. Unfortunately you do have to give out your ss # but I found it's worth it.I have TONS less shredding to do now!

I put my name on every list I find and still get them. If you actually get a human, I tell them I will not buy from people that
have so little respect for my privacy, nor will I vote for them!

just to repeat, the Do Not Call list does not need to be renewed. It is forever. HOWEVER, it does not apply to charities, surveys, and politicians, or any business you have done business with in the past.
I don't mind getting junk mail as I have a wood stove and, as DH says, "free heat!"

we keep getting phone calls from a city in another state (about 6-8 hours away) and we never answer it. one day i decided to call them back and guess what i got - the LOCAL newspaer! LOL! we had quit subscribing to it due to financial reasons but guess what - after that i doubt we will ever subscribe to it again. what about keeping jobs local - i know the larger business have call centers and stuff but this is a LOCAL newspaper in a town where there is high unemployment rate (my dh looked for a job for 4 years before he was LUCKY enough to get a job at Walmart) maybe i should rephrase the town part - it is actually a city with about 100,000 people with many suburbs but i think you all get my point and aggravation!
