    I've gotten them when I've searched images, so I suspect it's a site there. I've got a really good antivirus, but it would only be able to temporarily eradicate it. I did some searching and came up with a recommendation for Anti-malwarebytes. I downloaded that and ran it and it seems to have eradicated it. At least for the last month.

    Yep I'm using a virus checker software AND the malwarebytes program. It gets the virus off but I takes about 3 hours to run the boot scan to get rid of it!

    Running a boot scan is better than dealing with the (expletive deleted) viruses though.

    I use AVG and I google quite a bit. I have had no problems with clicking on any pictures. If it is not safe AVG will tell me it is not safe to "go there".

    I have Trend. It was recommended by the Geek Squad and has worked well so far. Knock on wood.
