Thanks Coffeegirl, that is one I was looking at. also one that had the water going down a "slide" sort of thing. no splashing there either. I do like the one you posted better though.

my 5 cats love when they can get in the tub at nite. I puddle a pool of water in the tub and they all take turns jumping in and getting a good drink. they have 2 water bowls downstairs, and use them, but they love it. we get ready for bed and I fix the tub for them. they hear the water and all run in. One time I had about 3 inches of water in tub already getting ready to bathe the grand son and grim jumped over the side and right back out! I laughed till my jaws ached. Now he checks first. lol

my Zoey has an aqua cube,,,it's a bit difficult to keep clean. that one is between the kitchen and living room. she has another brand in the bedroom. I love listening to the sound of babbling brook, but my dh doesn't. she also has a glass of water on the floor in the bedroom and one near the counter in the kitchen. spoiled, right??? I like this other one posted. might be a good Christmas present for her.

ha, ha. you guys (girls) really do spoil your kitties!! Boy, I went and read reviews. seems lots of motors quit after a few weeks. sigh. they all seem to do that. I wouldn't mind paying a lot more if it were a good product. Still, I may go look.

We bought the metal one from Drs. Foster and Smith: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...2&pcatid=24162. This one worked well. We bought it because our oldest cat liked the running water in the toilet.

We have two Drinkwell Platinum fountains (one for each house) that we have had for several years. They are actually designed for dogs but our cats love them. My husbands long-time travel companion developed kidney disease about 15 years ago and our vet said cats usually don't get enough liquids and a fountain that bubbled or had running water would intrigue him into drinking more water. Oscar lived another eight years to three months past his 21st birthday so it was well worth the cost, and at that time, the carrying the fountain across the state with us from our house to our condo. After Oscar crossed that Rainbow Bridge, we adopted two beautiful tuxedo cats and just bought another Drinkwell so we didn't have to constantly take the one apart each time we traveled with the boys. It is great for keeping your fur babies healthy. And I don't have a problem with water on the floor - I bought a small boot caddy at Walmart and have the fountain sitting on that. Usually if the fountain overflows it means you need to take it apart and clean the hair out - should be cleaned each week anyway. But it washes clean easily and goes in the dishwasher if you don't have the time to wash it yourself.

I like the looks of the one from Forster. my Himalayan has crystals and is already on the prescription cat food. I live where the closest vet is over 300 miles away and it costs a lot to take fur baby there ( my ticket, not hers) . I travel for the job and am gone 3 days out of the week. my cat sitter does not come in and change the water the two times a day Miss kitty likes so this will help her keep the drinking up. we just did super expensive bladder surgery for a bladder stone;i would rather pay for a water fountain than repeat that procedure. she also like running toilets so this is definitely worth a try.

Well I just got back from Walmart and got the Aqua one. cheap but very quiet. with water of course. I plugged it in without water and goodness. But it's very quiet now. My cats just stare at it. I poured more water in while they were watching, so we will see how it goes. I did buy a plastic mat with ridges so if any water gets spilled, it should be ok. So far, so good. thanks to all!!! (also bought my hubby an electric razor and am trying to get the thing charged. I will end up shaving him so it's electric for me!).
