    if you want to try a more protein rich diet PM me..as I am diabetic with a lapband and do mostly protein all day!

    Just eliminate all things NOT real! and starches, sugar and caffeine..you will be just fine!
    :shock: Did not know that! Definitely do not need that! I am suppose to go see my doctor right after I talk with the hospital and see what she thinks when I give her all the information.

    Is it hard with the lapband? uncomfortable or anything such as that?

    This is not true. If you already have compromised kidneys (as you and I as diabetics may have) then too much protein should be monitored.

    But for other, healthy individuals this is not a concern.

    Does a blood test tell you this? After all the medical stuff I have gone through lately I am sure that would be something that the doctor would of mentioned. Well if I decide to go with this diet I will definitely let everyone know how well or how unwell it goes

    I'd talk to your doctor. You might not know; I have a urinalysis every three months, but if you haven't peed in a cup lately it's probably not something you've had tested. ;)

    Sorry, I meant to answer this as well: no kidding! If a person is eating well in the first place they don't need a diet. If that person then diets, and falls off the wagon again, YES, they will regain the weight.

    Common sense.

    ETA: I know zero about this diet. Can't and won't comment on this one specifically.

    I have been on Dr. Gotts "No Sugar No Flour" Diet and it is really easy to follow. In 10 weeks, I have lost 25 pounds. It would probably be more if I would exercise.

    Good Luck. Just try to pick the one that will work for you.

    Well, I DO cheat now and then..I go on mobile drives with the Blood Bank and stop where each charge nurse wants to, which yesterday was StarBucks. They got me a chicken sandwich and coffee and a muffin with what was supposed to be cream cheese, but one of the men wanted it and got it. I took myself slices of a huge and lovely Nectarine from home. And a cold bottle of my own fermented Kombucha, and drank lots of water!!! And that yesterday's total beat everything!!
    UCMerced was the greatest number of donations made up till now.

    First I want to sincerely thank everyone for their input!!

    Well I went, and I signed up, kind of expensive but I feel it will be well worth it. This diet is ran by our medical center here, not that I trust doctors all the time. I researched and researched this diet all last night through early this morning and actually there are a great deal more positive comments then negative. I guess we will see if I can stick to it or not, I will just have to keep everyone up dated. It was explained to me that what this diet does is resets your pancreatis (spelling) And it is actually not a 'high' protein diet, such as the atkins one. there are four phases and fruits and breads will slowly be introduced back into my diet so that I will eat balanced meals.
