T Mobile is the other choice we are considering. I hear they have good customer service...so hard to decide.

We only use it to call each other for the most part or if I'm out shopping I might call my DIL to ask what size the grandsons are if I want to get them something. We pay 18 cents a minute.
I have the same thing - i have to "top up" every 90 days with at least $20 but i use it for emergencies or when i am out and about. I love the service~don't know if they still offer plans like that so I am definitely keeping the phone! I can't access the web and stuff like that which is fine by me!

If it's your first cell phone, I think VM prepaid is a good way to go. It served us well for a long time. T-Mobile is good for us now because we are much more sophisticated in our expectations, plus we are using our cell phones much more. In the beginning, it was only our dd who used her cell phone regularly!
