Don't let their posts steal your joy. Some people just don't have filters or aren't as tactful as they need to be sometimes. Stay with us!!

Keep posting and do not worry about the few that get upset. It is their problem not yours, you just stated how you felt.

I have never used a sheet, my Mom didn't so I guess I am just continuing what she did.

OK I went thru and read all the post on your 'sheet' post.. You posted your opinion and they posted theirs.. Don't let it bother you.. No matter who posts there's someone who is going to disagree and be verbal about it.. I use poly thread, I use poly blend fabs, I use sheets, & I use LQS fabs.. And I can tell ya I dont feel less-er than anyone who uses 100% thread and Nothing but LQS fab.. I love what I do so if IM snubbed so be it.. Ive got better things to do than to waste my time on snobs who have nothing better to do than sub me..

Keep on posting thats all I gotta say...

My response can echo many on here. Here's a hug-I am in your corner and can relate...I use sheets. Have you priced sheets? There are beautiful sheets out there. They last. My mother did it, my grandmother did it. I bought backing online and I thought I was sent a percale cotton sheet.
:)

Sometimes there will be snide remarks but 99% of the time this forum is pleasant. I got turned off once by someone who wrote disparaging things about those of us who choose to use patterns. I just decided to ignore it because sometimes what we type isn't the true context in which we are actually 'speaking'. I'm glad I let it go. I hope you stay. The info and feedback you'll find here FAR outweighs any negativity.

Please don't stop posting. I just read all of these comments, and then had to find the original thread to read. Only a few comments were negative, and I would just ignore those.

I learned a lot from your questions. I am here to learn. Don't quit positng!

I answered on your original post and it never crossed my mind that your preferences would be considered offensive. We are all here to learn and how can you ever get new ideas if everyone agrees with you. If you have ever read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, the second agreement says don't take it personally if you want to live a life of joy. Your post was not hurtful in any way to my way of thinking. It was just another opinion and should have been taken as such. Keep posting!

Me too, always used a sheet for backing. That said, I found a nice piece of fabric with masses of tiny splashes of color that will go on the back of my latest kid lap robe. So what you post is your opinion, and good for you. Everyone has her/his own opinion and are entitled to state such on this site.

Quilts are a work of art, and for ages artists have been disagreed with, but the beauty of their work is still admired.
