    Carrie,
I just googled and you are only 134 miles from me! That's only 2 hours in a car!

    Is that doable?

    Hugs,
    MJ

Tru you never did answer us about these new electric cars, the ones that are 100 electric. Could you ride in one of those since they would have a. Different type of motor, like riding around on a giant home schooter chair.

That's all!! Oh how I wish I could but I don't think my van would make it. Everytime I go to town I pray I make it back home. If only I had a new car I would make it a day trip. I'm sorry! :(

    Carrie,
I am in the same situation. Every time we go to Memphis I pray something else won't break on the car. Our air conditioner went out...and we are not prepared to get it fixed.

    LOL!

I'd rather be me than anyone else, even if it changed my circumstances. I am finding it quite challenging to learn how to budget every penny.

I think of it as a game. How much money can I come home with and still achieve my objective? Sometimes it's not the THING I want, it's the "hunt" or the shopping experience. I have to evaluate what I really am looking for.

sorry...........probably not I get dizzy from the fridge motor. It is also the movement and aor pressure. There in a change of air pressure when you move. I tired a bike and even the movement from that made me so dizzy I needed help to get back in the house and I was then in bed for hours.

I don't want to be rich I want to be healthy. I too like the hunt to find the best price for what I am shopping for.

Hello, everyone. I'm back amongst the living, literally. First, I want to thank you all for your prayers and concerns! I did manage to get several good hrs of sleep the night before surgery. Surgery went well. Dr told DH my knee was "a mess; worse than he anticipated". He said there was a lot of damage to it, "no wonder I was in so much pain and couldn't walk for all these months". He said I will feel like a brand new person with my new knee. The night of surgery, I stopped breathing twice. I had been given so much pain medication, my heart rate dropped, blood pressure dropped, breathing got weak and shallow and then I stopped breathing. DH had left about 6 PM to come home and let dog out as she had been in cage since we left for hospital at 4:30 AM. When he got back to the hospital, the nurse told him about the incident. Just before 11PM, it happened again. He said it scared him to death. I dont remember anything about those incidents and glad I don't. However, once I'm able to be up and about again, I want to go review my med recs to see what all was going on. Not that I think anyone necessarily did anything wrong, I just want to know what happened. DH spent that nigh with me. The 11 P - 7AM nurse was scared I was going to die on her so she decided she just wasn't going to give me any pain meds. And she didn't. I had a terrible 1st night after surgery. I cried so hard, for hours on end, I was in so much pain. I did not even think at the time, I should have had my husband to call the night supervisor of the hospital. I could have gotten something for pain. That was ridiculous. The next day, the nurse was good about giving me pain meds as often as she could. She got the pain under control. However, keeping it under control has not been a easy thing to do. PT started the day after surgery and I did good. I am taking baby steps, literally. I have a long road ahead of me and so glad to be on the mending side of things. The CPM machine (device that you lay your leg in and it excercises your knee), was delivered to my house this morning. I am to do that 3 times/day for 2 hrs each time. Plus PT. Oh well, whatever it takes to get me up to par and mobile again. I have not had an appetite. I couldnt eat the night before surgery, as I was so nervous. I didnt'/couldn't eat, due to nausea, Tuesday or Wed. Thurs lunch I ate 3 small bites of banana pudding and started gagging. Thurs dinner, I ate several bites of spaghetti. Yesterday I ate 4 chicken nuggets from McD. Today I had 2 chicken strips from chick filet. My real estate agent/dear friend brought a pork loin, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits and homemade, made from scratch chocolate pie........ Dinner was a few bites of pork loin, 2 bites of mashed potatoes and 3 bites of pie. Oh my gosh, the pie was delicious. I will not fuss at myself due to how little I have eaten. DH asked if I wanted more. I said, "Yes, but do NOT bring me any". He is being so good and attentive. It's time for me to go get back on the CPM machine now. I have many pages to catch up on. I've missed you all and had QB withdrawals. I wanted to get on line when I got home yesterday, but my priority was getting my pain under control. I hope you all have a good night. Hugs to all. Love, Sandy

Sandy, I'm sorry you had to go through that. To go without pain meds on the night of surgery was ridiculous. The nurse should have known better than that. Where was the pain specialist? It's his/her job to control the pain without dangerous side effects. I'm sending renewed prayers for your healing with manageable pain.

MJ and Carrie, I think lots of us are in those circumstances for various reasons. Thank goodness, it's just me and the dogs. I would have hated to have to be this careful when my children were growing up. Do I buy groceries or pay a $150 copay on a MRI? Can't do both. Plus, I have to go out of town for it because I am claustrophobic, so there's $20 worth of gas, too. Such is life.
