Kill them with kindness. Mom always told me that you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

Call your town hall and find out how many feet from their property line the camper can be. There will be a rule on this, and as long as it is far enough from thier property line according to zoning rules there should be no problem.

Building uselly are 50 feet from the property. If you have trees that hang over a fence he has the right to trim the tree.
I hope it all works out in you favor

They are building a camping site, but they don't want to see a camper! Seems strange to me....

Friendly and open communication is the best idea. You seem really willing to make this neighbour thing work, so hopefully they won't be a pain about anything.

Good luck...and hope your little hideaway and trees stay just the way you need it to be.

When I lived in Atlanta I woke one Saturday morning to my neighbors outside my open window discussing how they were going to fell a tree so it would not land in the street or take out any power lines. Real problem was they had a few shrubs but the only trees in "their" yard were on my property at least 5 foot inside the property line. It seems that they wanted to cut them so they could see who was coming up the street. I offered to have my husband trim back the limbs that were hanging over the property line and that was not good enough for the Mistress of the house. She remarked that she would just wait until I was not at home and cut them down. I advised her that I had a survey done when I purchased my property and pointed out the iron pins in the ground to mark it. I suggested she go ahead and get out her checkbook and write me a check for a $1000 for each tree she planned to cut. End of subject....About 2 weeks later I come home from work and find police cars blocking the road. Seems they had been growing Marijuana in a camper in the back yard. No wonder they wanted to see who was coming down the street....Check with your Register of Deeds maybe there is some type of 'Grandfather' clause you fall into. Also if you might want to check with your Co. extension office there might be a "animal sanctuary" status you qualify for. It might pay to visit a property attorney to see what kind of legal action you are entitled to just in case you can't kill them with kindness. Best of Luck.

I must be stupid but what happens in the city when there is less than ten feet between this house and that house?

I have been dealing with dreadfull neighbors ever since we had our property surveyed about three weeks ago. to make a long story short the neighbors are claiming a set of horse shoe pits in the back yard, one is ON MY PROPERY the other is on common ground. So really NEITHER of the pits is on their property. However I was going to put a fence up on the OTHER side of the pits so they were still usable by all. But she never gave us a chance to explain any of that, she instead came out of the house cussin my husband and brother saying that the stake was in HER back yard. lol My husband just looked at her and said well actually the stake is the corner of my property so it is actaully on the line of your property. The next day her "realtor" was over their with a tape measure "surveying" the property. lol Her husband went crying to the neighbor but didn't have the cahonas to come talk to my husband or I. Our insurance agent advised us to take the horse shoe pit that was on our property out. So that is just what we are in the process of doing. We were going to leave them there so we too could play horse shoes, now no one gets to!

Here are some before and after pics of my little cottage. Let's hope they are friendly neighbors.

Or maybe if you're lucky, since they don't like it there, that they'll sell it to you real cheap, then you won't have to worry about them or anyone else buying it. What is the purpose of cutting down trees? Surely not for campfires, so why cut them down? Hope you get something settled quick.
