    Default Attention please: Garment makers

I'm looking for shops carrying summer weight fabric for dresses. I prefer a slight drape in rayon and cotton with a little stretch. Unfortunately *sigh* I have only JoAnns within a 100-mile radius.

I from northern lower Michigan. Brick-and-mortar and online shop suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

    Also, fabric suggestions also appreciated.

I don't buy any non-cottons any more so can't be too much of a help. When I search Amazon for fabric offerings, I have gotten several things from Fields, which is a small Michigan chain they have physical locations and I've been very happy ordering on-line too.

I think GreenFairies.com sells clothing fabric along with other types of fabric.

Just had to go check, it is actually Greenfairyquilts.com

This is nowhere near you but I read of this site on another board and did a quick scan yesterday. Some lovely garment fabrics here. https://farmhousefabrics.com/

Where at in Northern Michigan. My sister in in Traverse City. She may know some shops up there since she does more garment sewing than quilting and she is NOT a Joann fan.

fabric.com has many different types of fabrics, but they have great customer service. If you have a problem, they are there to help. Buying online can be a bit scary because we all depend on the feel of the fabric, but they are a reliable company.

Thanks for the link...what a selection. There's even a "for boys section."

Thanks for the tip about customer service. I am a touchy feely person when it comes to garment fabrics.

Thanks for the note. Which Fields do you find carries the best selection of garment fabrics?
