Back when I was a young teenager there was a joke going around about the Methodist church and the Baptist church (which are right across the street from each other and at that time did not have air conditioning so all the windows on the churches were open).
It is said that the sermon for one was very loudly and fervantly admonishing the faithful to get rid of all the booze and throw it in the river.
The closing hymn for the other church was "Shall We Gather at the River"....
