Default Bed Sheet to Skirt in under and hour and under $10.00

I bought this bed sheet from Goodwill a couple of weeks ago and I intended to use it as a quilt back at some point, but I fell in love with the flowery print and decided I needed to make myself a maxi skirt to wear around the house and yard. The sheet cost $6.43 with tax and the elastic was $1.90 with tax. It took me an hour to put it together and I even put a patch pocket on the front for my keys and cell phone. It's super comfy. I'm planning on making more, but I don't know if I'll use old sheets to make them.

Great idea. Thanks for sharing. Little girls skirts could made from old children sheets or curtains.

Looks very nice. I haven't worn a dress or skirt in about 15 yrs.

I've used linen curtains to make things, too.

What a great idea! I am seeing maxi dresses more and more now, and have thought I might make one, but I think I like the idea of the skirt better. A skirt would be easier to make, and I would be more likely to wear it around the house........and I would definitely need a pocket!

Love that skirt...looks sooo comfortable....amazing what we will try that we normally wouldn't when we find a bargain. At least that's my thrifty side speaking...if I don't like it..well it didn't cost much, if I do then I'll look for some better material. Happy yours worked out so well.

What a fantastic idea. I always have fabric I love and do not want to cut.
