sometimes we give a quilt to a friend, sometimes we sell for a symbolic amount of money to friends or family, for me a swap like this is an excellent gift for both the quilter and the friend. I would take this swap as a gift for sure!

I used to clean the house of a single woman with...I want to say 6-8 dogs and 2 cats. She couldn't find anyone to do it, so I said I would (I don't clean houses as an occupation). Her house was 3 levels, but she did keep things relatively minimalist which did cut down on "things" to clean. It took me about 6.5 hours straight of major exertion (no lunch or break) to get the house done....it was only once a quarter or so, so every single time it needed "the works". It was exhausting, and I would trade that for ....even days of quilting.... any day of the week.

Well, y'all's points are well taken and now I agree that I'd probably like to make a similar trade. I just might not make a big quilt.....or I'd be thrilled to make several flimsie s for the trading person to have quilted on their own. It's really the layering and quilting part I've come to dislike so much.
