I'm also near the Texas Gulf Coast - low 20's is COLD to us! Course - we have no snow plows, our pipes lay in our attics, no basements, no snowtires, so when we do get hit with a little cold everything is at a standstill. I don't own a coat - several jackets, but have to layer, layer, layer when it's like this. We're supposed to have snow or a "wintery mix" tomorrow and the schools around us have already said they're going home early on Thursday and no school Friday. The district I teach in has not called anything - we'll show up and then try to send the kids home with roads coated in ice, I guess!

We're also having rolling black outs cause our electric companys are not equipped to handle this much use. That makes no sense to me since we sure run the AC's when the temps get over 100 in August!

Me too. Unseasonably warm the weather man says . . . I think we are in the only part of the continent that is not going to get hit by the next storm coming in. Knew there was a reason we picked where we picked.

Hi I live right outside of Sandwich, Illinois and the roads got closed so we could not go out if we wanted to. Still have a large snow drift outside of our backdoor and cannot get the door open. DD coming to help me get it knocked down.

Sorry about that Nancy. I would hate to be trapped at work. On the other hand, here in South Texas, we are looking outside for our promised snow. It is a big deal here, because it only happens every few years and melts quickly.

The temperatures are in the 20s and 30s here. The schools are going to close early today, rolling black outs and crazy people that will drive fast on icy roads tonight.

I am at work now, but look forward to a warm quilt and a little snow.
