Blacklist TV Show
Blacklist is one of my very favorite shows, but I'm stumped. Can anyone figure out what happened on Monday???!!!! Good grief! I watched it twice and still can't sort it out.

Okay, here's what I think is going on. America was trying to extract Li because she had information on germ warfare that the Chinese had. I'm not clear on who hired the Pavlovich Brothers to kidnap her. Red hired the Pavlovich Brothers to get Tom to give him to Lizzie to question ("a gift for me? how nice!") Tom said he's "one of the good guys", but I'm not sure what that means. Tom gave Lizzie some cryptic information before leaving her. Lizzie hates pancakes. The FBI agents, especially Lizzie, are portrayed as buffoons. Red did all this planning to have people following Tom (people who blended in brilliantly, by the way), and then Lizzie decides to just run into the museum so she can see what Tom is up to. Jeez! I understand that she was the woman scorned and everything, but did she ever even CONSIDER asking Tom who he worked for?! Yeah, keep turning your back on him so you can talk on the phone...you just KNEW he was going to get free and then their house would be trashed by them fighting. She went to the safety deposit box and found something shocking. What could it be? Her birth certificate showing she is actually Red's daughter? A picture showing how Red killed Lizzie's dad in the hospital? it could be any number of things. Hopefully we'll get some answers next week.
My show pet peeve? Hollywood has a lock on makeup/prosthetics, etc. but yet the wig that they have Lizzie wear is just AWFUL! Why does she wear a wig? If it's because they are waiting for her hair to grow out or something, couldn't they have at least made it seem like her own hair? I find myself staring at her forehead/wig line.
Personally, I see Lizzie getting with her partner that she works with at the FBI. They have their jobs in common, and one would hope that he wouldn't be a double agent or something. It think that would be a cute match up.
James Spader - I don't have enough words. The fact that he can take me from laughter to tears in a nanosecond. His facial expression remains pretty flat, but he can convey so much. LOVE him!
Did I answer your questions at all? I just love Blacklist, but the lines are so blurred between good guys and bad guys you sometimes have no clue as to what is going on.

Here's a link to a very good run through of the shows. Weekly recaps are done. Nothing is given away, nor are there any slanted opinions. I watched as I do every week but was a little confused so I read this post afterwards and it cleared some of the fog.

Your feedback is wonderful Michelleoc! I think you should be writing this show!! I was confused by the Pavlovich brothers because in the beginning they mentioned Hezbolah, but that may have been to capture the Chinese woman.
There were some glaring inconsistencies: Lizzie walks into her house with 5 strange men making themselves at home, her husband is tied up and yet she shows no emotion.
Lizzie is always leaving the FBI on dangerous missions without backup or leaving any sort of information.
Your right about her following her husband and letting herself be seen - not very FBIish!
I think her husband is a double or triple agent.

I didn't notice either - its that sad look in her eyes that I see. Seems to be gone now replaced by determination. Please don't let it be true that her husband is "the good guy"!

I too love the show! My boss and I discuss it every week (he is hooked too). I do think Red is her father, but I thought I had Tom all figured out--guess I don't now. I was very pleased to see it has been renewed for next season!

Lizzie is quite the buffoon on this show. She acts totally clueless to be an FBI agent, like she spends the entire show daydreaming. I think Red is her dad because he flashes back to the same fire that Lizzie remembers. Perhaps the fire was set to kill him & his family, he wasn't home or he escaped and rescued Lizzie to give to the surrogate dad to raise to keep her from harm.
The rest of the FBI seems totally incapable of doing anything but Red's bidding. It is just amazing all of the bad bad people that Red knows. He has been around and has vast resources. He knows all the dirt because I believe he is a really bad man himself. He certainly is not one of the good guys.
I believe Lizzie's partner has a back story also. I believe him to be something other than a FBI agent.
James Spader is great. No Blacklist without him.
