My dogs like to chew on spools, too. They are not chewers, wonder why they do that. Maybe the thread shifting under their teeth is fun.

Tink has done the same to some embroidery thread spools...that little girl has more toys than Carter has Pills...but she has to play with Mom's.
Good thing we love these animals.....

I was just going to post about being careful what your pet eats. My sister is a rug hooker and for some reason, her dog ate a lot of her wool she had cut and ready to hook with. The dog went to the vets, had an operation and she was handed the bill, her dog and a quart bag of the wool they pulled out of the dog! They all lived to tell about it.

My mom used to bake fancy cakes-all the roses, vines, leaves, beautiful cakes. She finished one and it was on the kitchen counter. She was upstairs for awhile and when she came down, she looked at the cake and there were NO decorations on it. She thought she dreamt about decorating it until she looked at Sheba curled up and moaning with a tummy ache!! Sheba had just eaten the decorations and left the cake untouched. Dog and mom recovered.

I used to have a collection of single sandals. I had a Lab that insisted on chewing sandals; but only one of a pair. I also have a little one now that likes my embroidery thread. If I drop one on the floor she is there immediately to "pick it up" for me. Then she runs away with it.
