boisterous kitten needs help

My two cats that I had were taught that when I snapped at there ear & said a firm NO you do do not do that. After a short time all I had to do was put my hand in the position as if the snap was going to happen & they would back off. Once you snat the tip of the ear they shake there head as to what was that. Mine go to the point that if I showed the snap position the would bat there eyes as they backed off.

When my cat was little, he did that too. I just kept saying "NO" loudly and putting him on the floor. It took a LOT of persistance but finally he stopped. I would stop sewing if he wouldn't listen and put the cover on the machine until he went away.
The spray bottle does work, I actually got some cat mouth wash because for awhile his breath was rank...he hates the stuff and just 1 spray in his direction and he runs far away and hides.

If the spray bottle doesn't work, you must simply keep the cat out of the sewing room. A couple of years ago, I stitched through my own finger accidentally, and I would not want to do that to one of my furbabies

I'm glad spraying with the water bottle is helping. If it doesn't work after a while, I agree with someone else who said to get her a playmate. The last time we had cats, we got a brother and sister. Never again will I get just one cat. They need each other to play with and expend energy with, especially at this young age.

I was going to suggest a squirt bottle. My daughter always uses it to train her cats. And it was the ONLY thing that worked on my beagle when he was a puppy.

When my kitties were babies 3 at that! I also had a new baby neice and grandneice. So I was making little girl Easter dresses. This is how it went. While sewing Stealie was rubing on the head of the machine watching the needle going up and down, his brother Trouble was sitting on the warm spot created when I was ironing the dresses and the other brother Bubba was running under the fabric and playing with the tissue pattern pieces. What a fun couple of days as I was sewing and cutting on the kitchen table!!
