Since I recently rediscovered the Wayback I have been kicking myself for deleting bookmarks that I might have been able to recover. Oh well, lesson learned. I hadn't realized until recently that the archive is run by a 501c3 and survives mostly on donations.

I have had the same happen to me concerning bookmarked webpages missing.
I'm glad I read this thread through. It's amazing about the "Wayback" machine, and I didn't not know about it.
I have started using the printfriendly.com website to save webpages of interest/tutorials, etc.
This website changes webpages into pdf files; then I can save them or share them.

I have been worried about this for sometime, so instead of saving it as a bookmark, I right click on the page I'm on and use "save page as". This function actually exports a copy of the page you want to save, not just the link.

I'm using a mac and not sure is this is a functionality of a pc as well.

I've never lost the information this way.

Is that a site or what? I've never heard of the "Wayback machine". It sounds like a space fantasy :-) Anyone willing to share the link?

I just tried the link; I copied a bookmark link address. All I got was a calendar for 2013. Did I do something wrong?

Not every page is archived, and sometimes you have to play around a little to find it. The calendar might be a listing of posts linked to that url and to find the specific one you are looking for you would click on the specific date. Try clicking on some of the dates and see what it shows.

Yes, thanks for explaining that. I am going to bookmark it and hope it doesn't disappear!!! I loved Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman.
