My goodness that woman sounds like a piece of work. Any chance of getting the husband instead?

I think it's time to share the name of the store with the rest of us. I would hate to wander into it while traveling if that is the way they treat customers.

Yes, please share. Or at least can you mention what town you were in? I'm all over the state and I would hate to give her any of my business. And I do like to shop. My sister tells everyone that I've mortgaged my home to support my habit.

OMG - I can't believe she talked to you like that. She basically was calling you a liar. Turn the shop in and let everyone you know how you were treated. Anyone can make a mistake, it is how you take care of it that is most important. So sorry for you. I know I would have lost my temper.

This whole thing if outrageous. Not only have you been ripped off, but she is accusing you of being a liar...(maybe you cut the 2 yd piece of fabric).

I would definately file a formal complaint with the BBB, and the State Attorney General.

I also would be very vocal with my sewing friends/groups.

I am so sorry you had to run into such a person.

You could always call your local news station consumer advocate and ask them if they would be intersted in doing a report in the field, in front of the quilt shop. It would be worth the drive :!:

Inquiring minds want to know where not to shop. Please let us know so this doesn't happen to us too.

I'm often visiting friends in the UP. Need to know where not to buy...I like the stacking bolts idea...hummmm!!! Friends are also quilters, they definitely need to know.

I think the reason we are all so sympathetically angry at this experience is that we are disappointed in our "own kind". I always expect that quilters, and those who supply us, are kind, generous, honest, respectful and helpful people. I'm rarely wrong. When something like this happens, I am surprised and disappointed and embarrassed at the actions of our "own kind".

Maybe you should print off this whole thread and send it to the store owner.
