I used to have a butterfly bush - my husband didn't like it!! I had it planted on the edge of big flowerbed. When our daughter got married here at home, she chose that spot in the front of the bush for the ceremony. There were butterflies in the air all around the couple! There were some nice pictures taken that showed the butterflies. My husband disliked the bush enough to remove it , even though he thought it was neat to see the butterflies at the wedding . . . . .

GREAT picture! We have a Potentilla in the front yard (yellow blooms) and sedums and another plant I don't know the name of in the back yard (white blooms) and I have SO many butterflies this year!!! No hummingbirds....just butterflies. sigh

Love your picture.
I believe you have a Black Knight butterfly bush. Just beautiful. I have one that is only one year old and about two feet high now. The other I do not have the name of, but it is up to the guttters on the house and is a lighter purple. I just purchased three pink ones that get only about 4' high.
Thanks for sharing.
