Debbie, Twislers's does make a thin licorice. My hubby suggested that when he say me sewing with twine. He is a fast learner!

What a great idea for a quilt retreat treat! Yep, the black licorice would be great for the "ties" on those cookies. Looks like you had a great time also. And I agree, your long arm quilting is fabulous! If only ......

I saw a similar recipe in a magazine and saved it. They used royal icing in a very thin strip to make the "thread" so they could make it edible. I participate in a cookie exchange each year and plan to make them for that.
