I have been using the public librarys computers for almost a year now, as we had to give up cable and internet....it is almost nice...I get 1 hr a day, which helps me limit my time online....and its free unless I have to print something, but very easy...

Due to budget cuts, our Library is only open from 11-5, M-Sat and is completely closed on Sunday. 1 hour time limit, which is normal. Most of the machines are so antiquated, and some of the keyboards have sticky labels where the letters used to be. The printer is usually not working, or at least not when I wanted to use it.

I always buy computers at Walmart. DH bought me an Apple Air laptop, it's like holding card stock. He didn't like it either. He got a deal from a computer guy who needed money fast so bought the thing for almost nothing. I gave it to my DGD for school. There is always the library to keep up with the board.

They need to get in touch with Bill Gates of Microsoft. Seems like I am always hearing about new computers being donated by him to small schools and public libraries. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Good luck to your DD. Hope the old computer works and you get to continue to enjoy the QB. Other great options already stated. I had to laugh about "getting some quilting done". I am surrounded by fabric that is waiting to be cut for quilts and yet, here I sit mesmerized by all the quilts, and news. Look forward to hearing from you again real soon Dianne!
