cabinets done!

Beautiful job!!!! I find it SO satisfying to do things ourselves.
As for the wallpaper -- good luck. I had a house that had wallpaper ALL over the kitchen, including the ceiling (?) and it hadn't been sized or painted underneath. They applied it directly to the drywall. We ended up texturing the walls. Next time, IF I ever buy a house with wallpaper again, I'll hire someone to do that!

the last three houses we had, we left the paper and wallpapered right over it. if you have trouble getting it off, believe me, it isn't going anywhere really soon. use a little filler, like spackle, to smooth it out where the old paper meets itself, let it really dry, and just ignore that it's there at all. after all the work you did on the cabinets, the last thing you want to do is use a steamer in there. it can warp the unfinished cabinet bottoms.
the kitchen looks like a brand-new room. now keep everyone out so it stays that way.

Thanks everyone!!! I think I'll be taking a little time to build up my courage for this wallpaper project. I think I'll be scoring the paper, knowing there might be a chance of warping the wood is a thought.
And what I mean by courage is that I get so focused and gung ho on a project that I get right into it. Which is a good thing! This works for my quilting too!!
