Beautiful! I love Christmas cactus too... 'cause I can grow 'em, and they always bloom for me.

I put them out in the summer, not in full sun but where they receive some shade along the house. And I leave them out there until just before it gets frosty in the fall. When I bring them in, they already have buds set, and are usually blooming by Thanksgiving. That's what I call easy!

Your climate should be enough like mine that you can hope for the same results. Mine sit out on the north side of the house, and also under the porch on the east side of the house. Which, I guess, means bright indirect light. And I would have thought that being cacti/succulents they would prefer stronger light. But I once made the mistake of putting them out on the south side of the house and they literally became dark with sunburn. Guess they prefer a shadier spot!

Nan, my cactus was my husband's grandmother's!!
She died in 1975 so this plant means a lot to me :)
His Mom gave it to me in the early 80's.
Thanks again, Sue

Beautiful cactus. Mine is on the last two blooms. It started at Thanksgiving and has had one or two blooms since. Love Christmas cactus. Thanks for sharing.
