I have severe dry eyes.
Dr. says lack of moisture in the air causing it.

This is the oddest statement ever to me.
Why...

I live in the Northern Oregon.
which means...
RAIN>>>RAIN>>>RAIN...no lack of moisture !!

My eyes seem to bother me more when it rains.

Dry eyes can be caused by things other than the environment, for example natural aging can cause them as well as some medications.

many medications can cause dry eye, also some foods and some people just don't make enough tears naturally. good idea to consult ophthalmologist. i have the same problem and following various eye drops my Dr. finally inserted what are called "smart plugs" into 2 of the tear ducts in each eye. problem much reduced.

There is a condition called Sjogerns syndrome that your eyes are dry mouth hair and skin plus meds and air quality

My Mom in law uses hot packs on her eyes to help with the dry eye issue caused by her diabetes medication.

Could be wet outside and low humidity inside if you use A/C a lot and cause dry eyes. Just a thought.

A couple of years ago DH and I had a wicked case of dry eye. DH was having more problems than I had -- he kept getting little cysts that the Dr said were the result of dry eye.

One day I got something in my eye and went in to the clinic on an emergency and the Opthomologist (not the one we usually see) suggested that I start taking Flax Seed Oil. DH and I have both been taking it since and all of our dry eye symptoms have disappeared.

your humidity can be low even when it's raining outside-
did your regular dr tell you this or an eye dr?
if it's your gp i would make an appointment with an optomotrist (sp)
in case it's anything (treatable-caused by infection or something that can be -fixed-

too much water can dry you out-like swimming for too long draws the moisture out of your skin

I too have dry eyes. The dr told me to apply warm packs to my eyes and then gently massage the lower lids. He also told me to use eye drops. The recommended one is Soothe XP by Bauche & Lomb. They really help. You can buy these over the counter.
