my husband has been out of work since August he has had an inquiry about taking a six month contract job in the Polaris area but in looking online for a place to live there is no way he could afford to live there and pay for this house and an apartment there. Does anyone know of a good clean place that rents for only six months for under $500 just in case he gets the job? He would even be willing to trade some handyman services for a discount on rent or even rent above someone's garage or something like that. Thanks in advance so much

Hosta, you're right. The Polaris area is fairly new and everything is expensive there.
How big of a place does he need?? There are tons of rentals in Columbus and the freeways make it very easy to get to Polaris.

Try LeMans Village, just off Sawmill Rd, but has a Columbus address, probably 15 to 20 minutes to Polaris. They have some apts for $600 and that includes heat and AC. 1 bed, 1 bath . Not sure about 6 months but there are quite a few apts on that street that might be worth checking out.
IM if you need more info.

I'll check some things out. When we first moved to columbus we had a townhouse on broadmeadows but there also was an apt house next to them that was cheaper. it was 60 Broadmeadows blvd. Rent was reasonable then. I'll check our local area tonight. There are some apt complexes in the Northland / Forest Park area that should have moderate rents and should be fairly close to I-71 N which is the freeway he would take to Polaris.
