    It does NOT go away on its own..my brother is a physiotherapist and he had surgery last year...he uses his hands every day on patients and that's what causes it..overuse..see a dr...you can get relief...

    that is where mine stemmed from. I was involved in an auto accident about 25 years ago and was rear ended. I was set to have the surgery and decided to try a chiropractor first. Worked like a charm!!!!

    Over repetitive movement definately is a major cause of carpal tunnel syndrome. But often a pinched nerve in the neck can cause the same symptoms as CTS and it is often misdiagnosed as CTS. That's where the high failure rate comes from.

    do you have a wrist brace of any kind? they do help. even if you only wear then while asleep!

    Thanks all for your help. Its much better today, almost pain free. I guess it caught me by surprise. Havn't had it flair up to that extent in ages. Must have did something to cause that to happen just not sure what. Need to pay closer attention to activites I guess. Mis Dixie
