My other cat now is Inky. I inherited her from my step-grandad & and step-aunt. They were getting too old to take care of her. She is now mine, and lets me know where I should be and when. :)

I would adopt from a shelter in a heartbeat. (hopefully that won't be for a long time)

PS - I will post pictures of the 2 cats when I get home.
Please post your pics and tell me what in your picture in your avitar?

The boy's dad was diagnosed with Diabetes about 18 months ago, and he convinced me that if he had a dog he could walk it, and loose some weight...

The Hamilton SPCA used to get dogs from LA, and they had just gotten 130 right then. We went to look at a mid sized dog, and he picked out a different dog... we left and David went to look at her 2 days later, but she had been adopted out... He called me a million times, about another dog he saw... I was at a quilting class, so I went out there. The dog they showed me was one that I had looked out about 6 times, but I wasn't familar with the breed, and it hid at the back of the cage, so I new that he really didn't want to be there! I told the boy's dad that he better have money, because the dog would never go back into the cage ever again!!!

So we adopted Ricky who is a Maremma Sheepdog X, and he was in a shelter in Bastrop, LA, but was rescued by an organization in Alexandria, LA. We were also told he was a female... but we quickly discovered he's not.... They made a mistake when they were transfering the dogs across the border, because his orginal papers state he's a male.

He's probably the quietest dog around, he rarely barks, walks good on the leash, loves the boy's dad and likes his treats!

The boy's dad, Kyle and Ricky are going to be arriving in a few hours at my mom's, and I'm not sure who I'm more excited to see... the dog or Kyle!!!
What a sweet story I know I am going to be   Soon!!!! ;)

Rescues are the best!
Tundra was found walking in the street just before Christmas in 2001 as a fuzzy little puppy with big feet. He grew to be 65 pounds, and has a thick coat, probably a husky mix.
Suzie came from a family looking for a home after her owner passed and they only had outside dogs on their farm. They advertized on the grocery store board 4 years ago. She was originally found in a junk yard.
They get along well with the four inside cats led by Yeti who should be called Velcro! The others are not as visible unless it is feeding time. The cats all came from the same Mom who got out before I could get her fixed after she came with 2 kittens. Mom and the male got out, but he had already been fixed, he never came back. Mom came back happy and had the others, and now they are ALL fixed!
All of my crittersare about the same age, so it will be tough when that time comes. I will replace them with rescues again.

They are soooo cute and beautiful!!! :-D :P :XD:

All my cats are rescues and all indoor animals. Such a mixture of colors, personalities and love abounds in this crazy household. My husband and I feel so blessed for these lovely animals to have chose us as their adopted parents. I volunteer 3 days a week at our local animal shelter, unfortunately, this is not a 'no kill' shelter and it is hard to see animals disappearing on occasion and it makes me want to cry, but then I realize that I am able to make a difference to some. I go over there after my part time job and take the cats out of their cages and let them run and play and I always love and hug them and let them know that they are 'beautiful' and the most special cat in the world. I also make 'cat nappers', small quilted pads to go into their cages and they get changed daily and I bring them to my home and launder them. With the cap nappers, the cats are more relaxed then just having to lay on cold metal or newspapers. Please volunteer at your local shelter. They need help so much and they are so underpaid. Any thing you can do to help out is appreciated. Please remind your family that pets are cute, but they need to be spayed and neutered always.

All of my pets, my whole life has been rescues. I've never been without a pet long.. right now we have 1 dog inside, 1 outside. she was gonna be inside but she can't handle being inside and we got her when she was 9 weeks old.. so not sure what caused that. then we have 3 rescue cats inside and 2 outside. would have more if hubby would let me. If an animal shows up at our door, I try to find its family and if not it stays. had 1 that showed up and I went around I thought everywhere and asked to no avail. so we ended up having her for over a month when a family came up our lane and said we heard you might have our dog. sure enough she was theres and they lived over 6 miles away. but I had told everyone if someone asked about a lost dog to send them my way... I should of stayed quiet. we were in love with her allready.

All my pets have always come from shelters. I have a Setter named moose and a tiger cat named sandy. I don't know how to add pictures yet, but will learn soon.
