We have both. When we are home the cell phones are not on. When we leave the house or working in the yard our cell phone is on. My daughters, son in law and grands have Iphones and they are never turned off and rarely out of their hands. They do not have land lines in their homes.

We only have cell phones. When we moved to this address, the previous people did not have AT&T, so AT&T wanted to charge us $249 for installation. Our local 911 will let us register our cell phones so that is what we did.

My internet is satellite. Cable is cable. No need for land line.

We got our first cell about 3 years ago, just so we'd be able to get in touch with realtors. Now that we're finally up here, we have both land line and cell. We have the cell just for emergencies and also they don't get a signal where we live.

We have both. Need landline for internet as we can't get cable, and no reliable cell coverage. I have an IPhone and hubby has regular cell with internet coverage. I am on the road for work, and wouldn't want to be without my cell.

I have a land line only. I've never found a cell phone that offered a calling plan that fit my needs without charging me a ton.

I have unlimited local and long distance calling because my service is through Comcast. I was able to get them to extend my bargain rate for another 6 months, but when that ends, I'll shop around for price again.

We are a little nuts, but I work out of our home, so we have 3 cell phones and 2 landlines between the two of us. One landline is a dedicated fax line though. I use one cell as my office number.

right. if you have an emergency, an operator can tell from three tower points what neighborhood your cellphone call came from, but not the exact location. the only way they can find that out is by going door-to-door and asking if anyone needs help.

when you call 911 on a landline, your exact address can be traced and medics can be dispatched immediately. so, even if you never use it, the cheapest land line is not a bad thing to have around, especially at a 'certain' age or for anyone with health issues or small children.
