I have a cell phone and a land line. My husband refuses to use either! He hates phones! I guess I am like cminor...just feel safer with the landline and we use the landline for internet too (couldn't do without it!).

We have both as well. Have the Internet on the land line, also a thing to remember, in case of power outages, cell phones can be knocked out. An old fashioned land line will still work in a power outage.

We have both...mainly because we cannot have internet service without a land line where I live. But I feel much better knowing that in case of emergancy we have a land line...cell service can be unreliable.

We have a land line that is usually tied up since I am on here too much
and a pay as you go cell, for traveling.
there is no cell signal here, so it wouldn't do us any good to have one all the time.

We have both. Basic landline, no long distance for emergencies. Everyone else knows to just call the cell phones.

My cell phone is for emergencies only and half the time I want to use it, the $#@#$# battery is dead. Useless piece of cr....electronics. The house phone is my line to Germany. I actually don't spend much time on the phone.

I have both. Landline is bundled with cable and internet, so I can't remember what it actually costs   but I'd rather have the landline than the cell. House phone is unlimited, and the vast majority of my calls are long distance..I talk to my sister everyday, at least once!! And my best friend is long distance also, so is my brother. My son has his own cell plan and has for a long time. I held out til my daughter was commuting to classes everyday, she's on my plan, and uses most of the minutes :-D :-D . I often feel that the cell intrudes on my life, plus people always want to know why I didn't answer. Maybe I don't want to talk??? I don't want to feel like I have to drop everything whenever a phone rings, even the land line..both have voice mail after all   OK, off my soapbox now!!

We have both. As someone that have worked on many National disasters. Cell phone towers go down frequently before your landline. Also if you can't charge your phone their could be problems. While working on Earthquake preparedness here in California, we learned that it is important to have both. Just a thought. Many times cell phone circuits also are busy before landline.

We have land line, VOIP, and cell... We had VOIP for our business line and when we moved my mother from El Paso to Oklahoma, we were able to add her El Paso number to our VOIP account...her friends didn't have to learn a new number to call her and there is no long distance bill for any of her El Paso friends.

We have both because of internet service.......so I have a landline hooked up too. When we loose power due to the weather the landline still works as long as its not cordless.
