My husband and I each have a cell phone and that's all we have. We used to have cell phones and a land line, but when it became just the two of us alone in our big house, it didn't seem to make sense anymore to have a land line, that neither of us used much if at all. So, how many of you out there have cell phones and a land line, cell phones only, or land line only, and why? Inquiring minds want to know!

When I was single all I had was a cell phone that was NEVER turned off. When I got married and started a family we have a land line for 911 purposes. If my son dials 911 the operator can at least tell where the emergency is, since he doesn't know our address.

    We use both.

Our computer is on the land line, and the cell phones have been reserved primarily for family use. With two daughters in college, we would be way above our phone budget if they called us on the land lines!

    Anyone else?

My husband always talks about getting rid of the land line - but for some reason it worries me. I tell him in case of emergencies, but I think I just can't let go for some reason . .

We have both. My husband had some health issues a while back and was concerned that cell phone service may be unreliable. Now the landline is included with cable, internet, etc. I guess we've become dependent on the convenience of cell phones so we still have both!

my husband and I each have cell phones, so we droped the land line, but got Vonage, it is internet phone, use like regular but only if internet is working. saves about $30 a month. Can call anywhere anytime, and that is the number we give out for all no friends and family needs.

I have a cell phone and we have a land line plus Skype. It works for us. My new cell phone has 911 on it and ICE meaning In Case of Emergency so that I just push that button and who ever I programed in that particular button will get my call. (Just got the new phone Monday)

We have both. We have a set number of minutes on the cell phones and unlimited long distance on the land line. For emergency reasons, like them knowing our exact location, I don't see getting rid of our land line.
