I use Tracphone, too. The phone was cheap - under $20, and I bought double minutes for life. I can refill it online, and they usually have some sort of promo code that gives me extra minutes. I am not a big phone chatter, so it averages ten bucks a month for me, and the unused minutes roll over when I refill it.

My phone is with Consumer Cellular. I got an ad thru AAA and it has really good options. Monthly fee is $10.00 but then pay for minutes used (not prepaid). They have all different types of phones, too. I don't use my phone much-only 6 minutes this month but want the security of having one if needed. Other months I've used it more. I had a TracPhone before but never used enough minutes--I gave it to my DGD with over 500 minutes on it which she used up in 2 days (she's 13-'splains it doesn't it? LOL) If you don't use TracPhone minutes you lose them.
