    I just finished vacumning the filter on my AC. Started looking at how much rust is on the coils considering it is only 4 years old, and realized it has CAT FUR wrapped around them. The fur gets wet (in the summer) and was like glue. DUH!!! It makes sense with all the fur that comes off of the filter. Heads up! You might want to check and clean you coils regularly.

    Another thing, you need to pour bleach (about a cup) in the little hole water drips into from the pan and the emergency drip pan at least once a year. It can save you a lot of misery down the road if it gets plugged....Ask me how I know!!!

    I agree.....good info. We RV with our cats and have space heaters. DH takes them out and takes them apart to get cat hair out of them!

    i live under oakes my DH use window screen over the top of my a/c when we bought the house it was so full it took 3 times of emptying the shop vac and we opened the return was full of cat hair. i hat to have a new a/c this year in 3 mo it has saved me about $500.00 the old one must have been shot

    Thanks for the good tip! We have Malamutes and their hair floats into the filter & wherever it can float & cling. Always cleaning hair on everything. Backs of your fridge is another good place for animal hair.
