No power problems here so far. The weather report just toned down our snow prediction, too. We may get by with just ice and wind.

we lost our power for about 1 hour . We are still getting ice its better than the freezing rain. Kinda crunchy when you walk now instead of slipping each step.

The icy snow and high wind have decreased in Logan County in the past hour. But it's still coming down like crazy...very fine and powdery. It's so thick in the air it looks like dense fog.

How did you all fair over night. It is too early to call home and see how things are. I am going to go read the home newspaper and see what I can find out.

wow! I will have to call mom to see how they are doing. Where are you located? I grew up in a VERY SMALL town - my backyard was literally a cornfield - south of Springfield. My parents have since moved but they are only north of Springfield in Athens now. I have 1 brother in Riverton and another in Armington (talk about the middle of nowhere! lol)
I have a sister in St. Louis and she said it was suppose to get pretty bad for them too.

It ended up not really being much of a deal here. Only about 3 -4 inches of snow on top of our ice. We are about 45 miles south of Springfield. I saw on the news that Chicago really got hit.
