Our guild makes them for whoever asks for them. We are contacted by nursing homes and hospitals. They tell us what they need, the announcement is made at the guild meeting and then the next month the items are returned to the guild meeting and then donated. There is one member who is in charge of the whole process for a year. She does an excellent job.

I quilt exclusively for our local Veterans, in nursing homes ( small towns miss out on a lot of the big organizations) and the local VA clinic and facility...
I am a lone wolf ( or teddy as the case my be) Our closest QOV etc is 3 hrs away and they have strict quidelines that do not always apply to my quilting. I do not like the idea os shipping a quilt off to the cities when there is a need here locally

ConKerr Cancer always needs bright and cheerful pillowcases for kids ages 2 to 17 in hospitals with life threatening illnesses. You can check their site, conkerrcancer.org to find your local coordinator or quilt shop that is a drop off site for the pillowcases.

Many of the charitable groups have local chapters. Personally, I give to a group called Quilts4Kids and this local chapter is the recipient. The quilts are given to various different needy groups. I just make and give......to whom is their decision......

I love the one I am doing now..learned about it thru my guild..we are making big stockings for soldiers and they will be filled with things for our military. They are easy to make and I hope they will be enjoyed by our young people so far from home.
