So glad I ate before reading this or I would be starving! It all sounds so delicious!! We usually have all the kids over Christmas eve and we make about 100 tacos. Our boys can put them away!! Then we go to SIL house C. day and she does Prime rib, ham, turkey and everything that goes with.

Why dont you try one of my favorites side dishes.......Parsnips!

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/t...ipe/index.html

My favorite recipe for them and they are simple to make. Parsnips used to take the place of potatoes during the great potato famine.

We are going to do the classic ham and turkey both with all of the trimmings including the parsnips. And for breakfast it will be a coffee cake.

I am smoking 4 or 5 turkeys along with several pork shoulders this weekend so I might be a little turkeyed out before Christmas LOL!

With the recent passing of my father-in-law, we are staying home this year for a more low-key Christmas with just our kids and 2 young grandkids. I do have one friend coming who has no immediate family. I'm going to do a fairly simple meal that won't require me to be in the kitchen all day -- probably roasted pork tenderloin (easy and doesn't take all day to cook) and twice-baked potatoes that I'll fix the day before and then just have to reheat. A salad, veggie and homemade rolls will round it out.
