I'm taking a break from clearing out my master bedroom walk-in closet. I have so many clothes that I'm never going to wear again so I'm folding up everything and putting it into bags to take to Goodwill.

It feels good to get rid of clutter. It's just me in a 5 bedroom house and there is no reason to have a bunch of stuff around that I have no use for.
Wow! What a load of work....on the other hand, just thinking about 5 bedrooms (one for the quilting frame, one for sewing, one for the office, one for guests and one for myself.....what a great dream, however, tomorrow it is back to life as usual! Oh, well.

I still have the front lawn to mow and the back yard to weed. Luckily I did some clearing and flower planting a few weeks ago so there's not much to do there. And the flowers are blooming! Big, beautiful yellow flowers in the front planter.
Oh! Now I feel much better, I was a little sad thinking of your moving. Live to sew and mow  but I sure hate weeding. Enjoy the weather, I was blessed to have spent a year in Monterey, 4 years ago, 5 mins. from the beach, loved every minute.

I shouldn't complain about having 5 small bedrooms, I know. Just feeling out of sorts and maybe overwhelmed with getting rid of a lot of stuff all at once.

My daughter came over today and she did all the vaccuming. I'll repay the favor and go to her house in a couple of weeks to help her with unpacking and cleaning. When she walked in she said, "It smells nice in here." It does smell clean!

Yes, the weather is very nice though a little muggy today. It's usually not like the mid-west type of weather, hot and humid. California is usually a dry heat.

Not to take anything away from Goodwill, I donate to them too and think they are wonderful. But if they are work type clothes, could I suggest a women's shelter. Many of them have to leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs and having something nice to apply for jobs in would be very helpful.

Donate them to a women's shelter. That is what I usually do with my clothes.

We are getting ready to put our house of 27 years on the market. We are down sizing to a smaller house. We want to be closer to Olivia. Her parents just moved 30 more minutes away from us. So now the drive is 3 hour round trip. We want to baby sit her once we get closer. She is going to be our only DGD and we don't want to miss a minute of her life. So having said all that I'll be cleaning very shortly. I donate my clothes to a batter womens thrift store.

Yes, I can donate them to a woman's shelter. My employer sponsors a shelter and does fundraisers, including people bringing in gently used business clothes.

It does feel good to get rid of STUFF that I have no use for and is just cluttering up rooms. I'm basically done though I have some laundry to do and want to go through my clothes again as I fold and sort.

I probably have too many books, some old electronics I can take to work for e-waste collection, and some empty boxes to break down and put in recycle.

I learned a big lesson after cleaning out my parents' house that they lived in for over 50 years. I don't need this stuff and I feel so much better with everything cleaned out.

I wish you the best in cleaning out for downsizing too.
