    Hi all,
This thread couldn't have come at a better time for me! Like jmoore, we live in two places. Both are small and storage is at a premium. We technically downsized a few years back but for a number of reasons, including a tornado in Maine of all places, a lot of stuff remained in totes without being dealt with.
It’s being dealt with now! I'm going through clothes as well. I've lost weight and everything that's now too big is being purged. It feels great to take bags to the thrift shop and throw out the old, past the prime clothes. I have a bag of things to pass on to friends in my quilt group today. I have been a little surprised at how few treasures I've found so far. I did find two rotary cutters - one brand new that'll go to FL with me soon.
Thank you for starting this thread! Nice to have encouragement!
    Keep on trucking,
    lots2do

DD called last night..."Mom can I spend Thursday night at home? I'm traveling on the road and thought I'd stop for the night." As if she needed to ask! But I must get the Christmas closet emptied so I can refill the bedroom closet with the stuff on the bed she needs to sleep on! MrOk and I are leaving tomorrow for an overnight as well so don't have tomorrow to do it...put the coffee pot on and get moooving!

lots2do --I'm so glad this was a well-timed thread for you. Congratulations on the weight loss--best reason of all to get rid of clothes! Good for you for dealing with those totes. Decision making is a job! But so worth the effort to lighten the load.

Oksew--Nothing like a beloved overnight guest coming to light the proverbial fire under the rearend! And nothing more precious than time with our kids, especially when they want to and initiate it!

I'm bummed...DD plans have changed, but that's okay as change is for one of her kids. Nevertheless I did get all Christmas items moved. I didn't delete much as I had done that a couple of years ago, but did consolidate and have 2 tubs emptied...I do have a plan for them. The bedroom closet now houses my batting except the big roll. I have lots of pieces to piece for future use and they sorted by type...poly and cotton as well as size with largest on top. Each piece has the dimensions on a tag of some sort. A bunch of poly pieces went to a charity group to piece together. Taking a couple of days before I start back in with various backing pieces...the extra tubs will be handy for them and they can sit on the floor rather than on a shelf. Night all.

So now that we are almost 3/4 done with October...how's the closets coming? Took a hiatus on the backing fabric organization. Slowly emptying out items from the old sewing room. I decided that now is the time to paint it, so bought some paint today. MrOK helped take down a small overhead cupboard and shelves..head bangers for sure with the bed in there as the room is only 7 1/2 x 13. Filled the screw holes and started painting about 2 hours ago. Have half of it done...paint tray was empty and a good place to stop. Should finish tomorrow and get the bed set up and out of the family room. Grands don't have school tomorrow and they can help clean...they don't know that yet!

I guess I should have reported in myself, huh? The big haul we took to the thrift shop that doubled as a fundraiser (Oct 12) filled the entire back of my SUV with bags and boxes of stuff. Most from my house, some from my dad's.

My master closet breathes well now. The linen closet and sewing room closet, not so much. WHy? Because I decided to do something on my bucket list: my first craft fair as a vendor. THat means I've been sewing and researching and planning and organizing for that. The fair is Dec 6. I don't think any closets are going to get my full attention. Might do one shelf here and there in 15 minute pockets of time just to keep some momentum going.

Good for you, OKsew. You and MrOK are making progress, and it'll be so fresh with new paint!
